That’s why we make it easy to reach us in the way that’s best for you. Strike now while you’re in the moment, on a mission, and thinking about your future. With our MEd and Ed D programs fully online, Concordia’s mission to prepare leaders for the transformation of society spans the globe and touches communities far and wide. Our physical roots, however, are here in Portland, Oregon, where our focus has been on education since our doors opened in 1905.
It’s where our undergrads find their passions, where grad students further their education, and where might visit next year to walk across the graduation stage.
(Many of our online students choose to attend commencement on our campus.)And here’s the best part: in 2017, our College of Education opened a new $48 million shared facility in collaboration with Portland Public Schools' Faubion School.
The first of its kind in the nation, the innovative space—which houses our graduate programs—provides pre K-8 education, wrap around health, wellness, food, early childhood care, and other services to close the opportunity gap in this Title I school.
We call it the 3 to Ph D® community, and this is where you can learn more about it.
Youth Line is a peer-to-peer youth crisis and support service provided by Lines for Life—a non-profit dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide in Oregon.
Youth Line operates a helpline that provides crisis support and referrals via phone, text, chat, and email.
The helpline is answered by youth daily from 4-10pm and by adults at all other times.
Youth Line also operates a peer-supported outreach program to destigmatize mental health challenges, increase awareness for mental health and wellness, and encourage youth to reach out for help.
Youth Line’s helpline and outreach programs are supported by our youth volunteer mentoring program, which builds skills and confidence around mental health and wellness.
Teens reach out for support on a variety of topics and are able to talk with a trained peer crisis intervention specialist who can listen, relate, and empathize while discussing healthy coping skills and encouraging help seeking behavior. The helpline is answered by youth daily from 4-10pm.
